Samsung is one of the most popular appliance brands in Toronto homes — and one of the most repair-specific. Samsung washers, dryers, and refrigerators use proprietary technology, brand-specific error codes, and engineering that generic appliance repair experience won't fully address.

Samsung Refrigerator Repair

LG refrigerators are known for advanced cooling technology and smart features, but when something goes wrong it can lead to food spoilage and inconvenience.

Common problems we repair include:

Samsung French door and side-by-side refrigerators are common in GTA kitchens. They are also the source of some of the most frequently reported brand-specific appliance problems in Canada.

Samsung ice maker failure:

Is the most widely reported Samsung refrigerator issue in Canada. Samsung French door models — particularly those with ice makers mounted in the upper door — experience ice maker freezing, ice clumping, and complete ice maker failure at a notably higher rate than competing brands. The root cause is usually frost buildup around the ice maker unit due to a poorly sealed ice compartment or a failed ice fan (error code PC Er or Ice Fan Er). Samsung has issued multiple service bulletins on this problem. We see this repair regularly across Toronto and the GTA.

Samsung fridge not cooling

French door and side-by-side models is most often caused by one of three things: a failed evaporator fan motor (the fan that circulates cold air from the freezer into the fridge), a defrost system failure causing the evaporator coils to ice over, or — in older models — a refrigerant leak. The fridge section warms up first while the freezer stays cold. This pattern almost always points to the evaporator fan or defrost system, not the compressor.

Samsung Washing Machine Repair

Samsung washing machines — both front-load and top-load — are widely used across the GTA. Samsung front-load washers in particular have well-documented recurring faults that experienced technicians encounter regularly.

Samsung UE / UB error (unbalanced load) is one of the most common Samsung washer codes. The machine fills and agitates normally, then stops before the spin cycle with a UE or UB code. Often this is a simple load redistribution issue — the machine can't reach spin speed safely with an uneven load. But if UE codes appear consistently even with balanced loads, the suspension springs or shock absorbers are likely worn and need replacement. This is common in Samsung front-load washers after 4–6 years of use.

Samsung 5E / nd error (drainage failure) means the washer is not draining within the expected time. Start by cleaning the debris filter — on Samsung front-load washers it is behind the small access panel on the lower right of the machine. A clogged filter is the most common cause and takes five minutes to clear. If the filter is clean and 5E persists, the drain pump or pressure sensor needs to be tested.

Samsung DC error (door/lid not closing) on front-load models usually means the door latch is damaged or misaligned, preventing the machine from starting a cycle. On top-load models, a DC code indicates the lid switch has failed. Both are straightforward part replacements.

Common Samsung washing machine problems we repair:

- Washer not spinning or stopping before spin

- Washer not draining (5E / nd error)

- Washer leaking from door seal or underneath

- Washer not starting

- Excessive vibration or walking across the floor during spin

- Drum making grinding, rumbling, or thumping noises

- Washer stopping mid-cycle

- Samsung error codes: UE / UB (unbalanced), 5E / nd (drain), 4E / nF (water supply), DC (door), LE / LC (leak sensor), bE (button), 3E (motor)

- Door boot seal torn or mouldy on front-load models

Samsung Dryer Repair

Samsung dryers — electric and gas, vented and ventless — have a specific set of recurring faults that differ from other brands. Samsung's heat pump dryer models, increasingly popular in Toronto condos, have their own diagnostic requirements.

Samsung dryer not heating is the most common Samsung dryer complaint. On electric Samsung dryers, the heating element is the first component to test — Samsung electric dryer elements fail more frequently than those of some competing brands, particularly in models where the element coil is positioned close to the drum. A blown thermal fuse (caused by a blocked vent run) is also very common. Always check and clean the full vent run to the exterior before diagnosing a heating element failure — a blocked vent will blow a new thermal fuse just as quickly as it blew the old one.

Samsung HE / HC error (heating error) confirms a heating system fault. This can be the heating element, the thermal fuse, the thermistor (temperature sensor), or the high-limit thermostat. We test each component individually — replacing only what has failed, not the entire heating assembly.

Samsung dryer taking too long to dry is usually a restricted airflow problem. Samsung dryers display an "Air Flow" or "Check Vent" indicator when airflow is significantly restricted. Clean the lint filter after every load and have the full vent run professionally cleaned once a year. If the vent is clear and drying time is still excessive, the moisture sensor bars inside the drum may be coated with dryer sheet residue — wipe them down with rubbing alcohol.

Common Samsung dryer problems we repair:

- Dryer not heating

- Dryer not spinning

- Dryer not starting

- Dryer taking multiple cycles to fully dry a load

- Dryer shutting off mid-cycle

- "Check Vent" or "Air Flow" warning on display

- Drum making squealing, thumping, or grinding noises

- Samsung error codes: HE / HC (heating), tS / tO (thermistor), Et (EEPROM/control board), bE (button), FE (frequency error), dE (door)

- Heat pump dryer not drying or displaying filter warnings

Susan, Scarborough

I called for help because my dryer was making a terrible loud noise while turning. It is working perfectly now after Dmytro carefully repaired and cleaned the whole machine. He arrived promptly, worked quickly and everything was cleaned up when he was finished. I would recommend this company. Thanks!
